Typical of northeast Scotland, Aberdeen was enveloped in haar, but with a good weather forecast we were soon basking in sunshine beyond Banchory. Our starting point for an ascent of this munro was the car-park at Auchallater from where we walked to the eponymous loch before taking a rising path from behind the bothy to the hill.
