Ben Macdui is Scotland's second highest mountain. On this day of sweltering summer sunshine, we decided to tackle the summit from the Glen More side, starting from the Cairngorm ski centre. We took the path that heads west and ascends the west ridge of Coir an Lochain to the plateau, then walked round to Lochan Buidhe. Thereafter it is just a steady 40 minute ascent to the summit of Macdui.
