Ben Lawers is the 9th highest mountain in Sotland at 1214 metres and is the dominating peak north of Loch Tay. Ascent starts from the NTS car parking area below, initially folllowing the Edrmucky Burn through a region of attractive regenerating woodland protected by an electrified fence. As the ascent to the subsidiary Munro of Beinn Ghlas continues there are superb views across Loch Tay towards Ben Vorlich, Stuc a'Chroin, Ben More and Stobinian. The summit of Lawers itself provides exceptional views in the opposite direction to Lochan nan Cat and the mountain's subsidiary tops.
